As the number of celebrities charged with driving under the influence increases, names like Haley Joel Osment, Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton have been making the wrong kind of headlines. Paris Hilton, who pleaded no contest to DUI charges just weeks ago, doesn't seem to have learned her lesson about the rules of driving. While the Simple Life celebrity has steered clear of another drunk driving charge. Paris Hilton is in hot water again for her automobile use after being caught driving with a suspended license.

26-year-old Paris Hilton was pulled over by police on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday night as authorities noticed Hilton was driving without headlights. As police began to question Paris Hilton, it came to their attention that Hilton's driver's license was suspended.

According to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesperson, that was when police decided to seize Paris Hilton's car and impound it. While having her car impounded is not the biggest tragedy for Paris Hilton, he vehicle was a $190,000 blue Bentley she had purchased for herself at Christmas, adding an extra sting to the traffic bust.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Oscar Butao was quoted by Reuters as saying, "Miss Paris Hilton was driving the vehicle. After investigating her license status it was determined that she was driving on a suspended license." Butao continued, "Miss Hilton was cited for a suspended license violation and released in the field. Her 2007 blue Bentley Continental GTC was impounded." Butao also noted that at the time of the traffic stop, Paris Hilton was by herself and she was not tested for alcohol consumption. The traffic stop will result in a court date for Paris Hilton, though one has not yet been set.

Elliot Mintz, the rep for Paris Hilton, addressed the traffic stop as he said that Paris was simply heading out to buy some DVDs. Hilton had been at the West Hollywood Virgin Megastore purchasing some movies when she left the parking lot, but due to the brightly lit lot, Hilton failed to notice that her headlights weren't on. E Online quoted an Associated Press report where Elliot Mintz was asked if Hilton's license was indeed suspended. Mintz simply answered, "If that's the case, she and I are unaware of it." However, as is standard practice for someone found driving with a suspended license, Hilton's rather expensive convertible was impounded, and, as E Online reports, police then chose to "release [Hilton] in the field," being Sunset Boulevard.

Paris Hilton's recent run-in with the law comes only five weeks after Hilton was sentenced to three years' probation after Paris pleaded no contest to the charge of alcohol-related reckless driving. The charge stemmed from a September arrest in Hollywood, reportedly just after Paris Hilton had stopped by a fast food restaurant for a burger. That charge, according to TMZ led the DMV to suspend her driver's license, though it seems Hilton chose to ignore that fact. TMZ also reports that the traffic stop is a violation of the terms of her probation, and could be forced to spend 90 days in jail as a result. One of the conditions of Paris Hilton's probation was that she "obey all laws", which appears to have been violated with her late-night movie run.

Reuters also reports that this is the second time the hotel heiress has landed in hot water over documentation. Earlier in February, Hilton was stopped by German border guards while on her way to Vienna for the city's Opera Ball. Officials noted that Hilton's passport was expired, though the U.S. Embassy vouched for her after being contacted by German authorities.
