Nicole Kidman and her ex-husband Tom Cruise shocked party-goers at the Vanity Fair Oscar soiree when they enthusiastically chatted with each other and introduced their new spouses.

Kidman and her husband KEITH URBAN spent 20 minutes in "animated conversation" with the TOP GUN star and his new bride KATIE HOLMES.

According to Sydney, Australia's Daily Telegraph, the meet-and-greet between the celebrity couples caused a stir at the exclusive post-Oscars party and was watched intently by the VIP crowd.

Urban skipped the trip up the red carpet with his wife, but the Aussie couple presented a united front in their first big industry outing since his treatment for alcoholism last year (06).

A tanned and healthy-looking Urban was all smiles by his wife's side, as the couple prepare to head home next month (MAR07) for his national tour and her new movie.
