Aside from her professional career, actress and singer Lindsay Lohan has been making headlines for completely separate reasons. This time, it seems that 30 days in rehab was long enough for Lindsay Lohan, as the actress checked out of the Wonderland facility last week to allegedly get back to the weekend party scene.
Fox News reports that headline generating starlet Lindsay Lohan was spotted at the trendy Hollywood hot spot Teddy’s on Thursday, after spending a only a month at the Wonderland rehab facility. Representative for Lindsay Lohan, Leslie Sloane-Zelnick confirmed that the 20-year-old star had indeed checked out of the rehab facility, but will continue to follow the program as an outpatient. It's still unclear as to how successful the Lindsay Lohan approach to being an outpatient will be, as Lohan was also spotted on Friday night talking to her friend and Sexyback singer, Justine Timberlake in the parking lot of L.A. club Les Deux,.
Access Hollywood, which reported that Lindsay Lohan was out of rehab at the end of last week, also received confirmation from Sloane-Zelnick that Lindsay was in fact out of Wonderland, "She will take it day by day. She's in it for the long haul, and she asks that her privacy be respected.", referring to the decision made by Lindsay Lohan to continue her treatment as an outpatient. Access Hollywood also points to speculation that Lindsay Lohan checked herself into the Wonderland facility in January after allegedly passing out at a Golden Globes party. In an interesting look to the past, AH reminds us that a short time ago in 2004, the then 18 year old, Lohan denied the use of drugs, although the actress has admitted using alcohol,"People are going to think I'm this crazy girl and everything and they've said I've danced on tables and everything. It's just so silly. If they write I'm doing drugs and stuff, that's stupid. I know I don't do that. I have a sister and a family. I know that from personal family experience and I've seen other people go through that. I know better than that." What a difference two years in the limelight can do.
The latest news in the Lindsay Lohan treatment saga isn’t a new development, as Lohan has been free to come and go as she pleases from Wonderland from the very beginning. According to TMZ, less than two weeks ago Lindsay Lohan was spotted on the town with fellow socialite Paris Hilton at her favorite L.A. hotspots Les Deux and Teddy's. TMZ also reports that Wonderland isn't a strict rehab facility like The Betty Ford Clinic, as a former patient tells TMZ, "Wonderland has become a joke...While I'm trying to save my life, she's trying to save her face."
Lohan representative Leslie Sloane-Zelnick issued a statement to the press revealing that Lindsay is free to walk out whenever she wants and doesn't receive special treatment at Wonderland, "Lindsay is 100 percent not getting special treatment. This isn't the Betty Ford Clinic, it's not a lock-down facility. There is personal time."
Even if Lindsay Lohan is leaving the Wonderland rehab center, her departure doesn’t conflict with the clinic's policy as the Wonderland website states, "Life does not come to a stop when a client comes in for treatment." As well, Wonderland executive director, Dr. Howard C. Samuels, was quoted by People as admitting, "We treat the individual's emotional, spiritual and physical ailments."
Lindsay Lohan is currently awaiting release of her two films Chapter 27 and Georgia Rule, which are due to hit theatres in April and May of 2007. In addition, Lindsay Lohan has two films scheduled to begin production this spring, The Best Time of Our Lives and The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond.
